Connecting Students to the Power of Science: The Fleet

Students at the Fleet Science Center

The Fleet Science Center in San Diego offers field trip students a gateway to the wonders of science and technology. Through interactive exhibits, hands-on experiments, and educational programs, students explore a wide range of scientific concepts and principles in a fun and engaging way.

With its state-of-the-art facilities and dynamic exhibits, the Fleet Science Center sparks curiosity and fosters a love for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects for all. From exploring the mysteries of the universe in the planetarium to conducting experiments in the interactive science labs, students have the opportunity to participate in immersive learning experiences that inspire wonder and discovery. ABX helped transport 303 students to The Fleet during 2023/24 school year. For many, it was the first visit to this venue of scientific wonders. The visit packed a big impact.

Here’s how one teacher put it:

"It was a lot of fun for the students. About half of them were experiencing it for the first time. This made it very unique. The science center is really exciting for the kids because they get to play and explore while learning. They also really enjoyed seeing Balboa Park with some of our extra time. Thank you so much for funding which allows us to give our students more experiences."

How wonderful to learn while playing and exploring!

Fleet exhibits and educators encourage students to ask questions, explore new ideas, and engage with the world around them. Students learn in small groups, in an assembly, or the Fleet will come to you. Educators, check out your choices here.

The Fleet Science Center is not just a museum but a place where students can unleash their curiosity, expand their horizons, and embark on a journey of scientific exploration.
